Check out the fruit growing on the bark of this tree!

Here is everyone on our way to Playa Negro [Black Beach], where we stayed for the night. I'd aruge that the sand was more brown than black but none the less we spent our weekend at the beach on an island in the Pacific.

Amapala is an island in the Pacific Ocean. The island is actually an inactive volcano that we hiked. In order to get the island we had to take a boat from the mainland. Here you can see the island from where we took the boat across.

Ro, Jen, AJ, and I road in the back of the pickup most of the way to Amapala.

And so our road trip to Amapala begins…. we hitch hiked our way to the Pacific coast.

Friday after school I stepped off the public bus to see cows hangging out at the bus stop. I think the locals were laughing at the fact that I was taking pictures of these cows, as if I had never seen one before... but its not everyday you have cows walking around the city.

Random pictures... and I can't figure out how to flip the direction of the vertical ones, sorry :)

This is me sad that there is a hurricane coming….
So I have to be honest, I started taking pictures of the street and my house before the “hurricane” in hopes that I might have some exciting before and after pictures but you’re looking at the before and after.

I am currently at school sitting behind my desk and cannot make out anything beyond my windows. The rain is pouring down. I think it is rather ironic seeing how we have had the last two days off of school due to hurricane Felix and not seen a drop of rain until just now. I don’t think it will last long but who knows maybe we’ll get tomorrow off due to flooding. Oh man, only in Honduras do you get off school as many days as you have school. I will post more pictures tomorrow.

Casa Blanco [the white house] AKA: AJ and Ben's house.

The boys live four house down the street from us.

This is how I dry my clothes :)
